Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox had himself one of the most memorable rookie seasons in MLB history. He became the team’s starting second baseman in 2007, hit .317 during the year, was named AL Rookie of the Year and helped lead the Sox to victory in the World Series. Pedroia followed up his rookie season with an even more impressive 2008 that saw him hit .326 with 17 HR, 83 RBI, 118 runs and 20 SB and win the AL MVP Award.
