Product Description

Debuting with the Mets in 1984 as a 19 year-old, Dwight “Doc” Gooden quickly established himself as one of the most dominant young pitchers of his generation. That season, he was named Rookie of the Year, and finished second in the Cy Young Award voting, posting a 17-9 record and a 2.60 ERA. He followed that up in 1985 with one of the most dominant seasons of all time, going 24-4 with a 1.53 ERA, earning him the Cy Young Award. After 11 seasons with the Mets, Gooden slipped into pinstripes for the 1996 season, helping the cross-town rivals capture the World Series, and even throwing a no-hitter on May 14, 1996. After a few years bouncing around baseball, he returned to the Yanks in 2000, in time to help them beat the Mets in the World Series. Doc Gooden has hand signed this 8x10 photograph commemorating his No-Hitter. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
